Una is a journalist and broadcaster. She writes various articles and a weekly current affairs column for The Irish Times, and edits pop culture blog PopLife. She presents Ceol ar an Imeall (Music on the Edge) an alternative music show on TG4, which is now in its sixth series, and is also a reporter for TG4's flagship arts show, Imeall.
Una also co-founded music documentary film festival OneTwoOneTwo and spoken word event Come Rhyme With Me, which raises funds for LGBT resource centre Outhouse. She also set up Dancing About Architecture, a series of free journalism lectures with Ireland's leading journalists.
She is on the board of the GAZE International LGBT Film Festival Dublin. Her first book, an oral history of the movement for marriage equality in Ireland, will be published by The History Press in 2014.
Una was previously a staff reporter and columnist with The Sunday Tribune and a columnist with The Dubliner.
Una spent four summers teaching interpretative dance to teenagers, has appeared as a dancer on stage with Basement Jaxx in a giant gorilla costume and with the Flaming Lips as the Tin Man.
